New Arkansas wide receivers coach Kenny Guiton always knew that one day he would be a football coach, but he never expected to be coaching at this level. His first interaction with Arkansas came back in 2011 when the Razorbacks faced off against Ohio State when Guiton was a second-year quarterback for the Buckeyes. News of Guiton's hire came on Jan. 5, just hours after it leaked that Justin Stepp would not be returning with the program.

FAYETTEVILLE — When Justin Stepp chose to go home to South Carolina, Sam Pittman moved fast to hire Kenny Guiton away from Colorado State. Guiton inherits a talented group of wide receivers from Stepp. Treylon Burks and Mike Woods are among the best returning wide receivers in the SEC. FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas is among the schools already offering Klein (Texas) Cain Class of 2022 four-star wide receiver Matthew Golden a scholarship. Golden has earned 11 offers so far with many more certain to come. He helped lead Cain to an 8-3 record and 5-1 second-place finish in the district. Golden rushed eight times for 43 yards and a pair of touchdowns while catching 43 passes for 1,027 yards and seven touchdowns with a long of 85 yards. He also averaged 15.2 yards on 13 kickoff returns and 10.7 on three punt returns. In addition, he averaged 40.2 yards on 18 punts with a long of 68 and one inside the 20.

Multiple sources have indicated to HawgSports that Colorado State wide receivers coach Kenny Guiton is expected to take over the wide receivers coach position at the University of Arkansas. There has not even been an official announcement yet that current Arkansas WR coach Justin Stepp will take the same position at South Carolina. The Razorbacks are moving fast, it appears.
