Kelly Olynyk could be a backup big man option for the Boston Celtics if they can’t land Thomas Bryant, who last played for the Washington Wizards and is currently choosing between the Cs and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Detroit Pistons big man is in the second year of...

The Boston Celtics put together a stellar second half of the 2021-2022 NBA regular season, clawing their way back from an unideal 18-21 start to nab the second seed in the Eastern Conference, and eventually battled their way through the East to get to the Finals. Whether it was wear and tear, their star players coming short, a team playing above their heads coming back to Earth, general poor roster construction, or all of the above, ultimately, the Cs failed to capitalize on their title bout appearance and faltered against the Golden State Warriors in six games. With the offseason underway, the Celtics need to make some moves, and a trade for former Celtic Kelly Olynyk might make some sense.
With the season wrapping up, the Detroit Pistons have no need to go all-out to win games, so why are veterans like Frank Jackson, Cory Joseph, Kelly Olynyk and Rodney McGruder still playing?. The Pistons are winning games because the other team is either taking them way too lightly (76ers)...
Marvin Bagley III scored 27 points last night for the Detroit Pistons and Kelly Olynyk scored two, which is symbolic of the problem the Pistons face this offseason. Olynyk’s season has been a disappointment by any measure, as he’s had to miss a fair chunk of the season with injury and has been largely ineffective when he has played, logging some of the worst numbers of his career.
The Detroit Pistons have not won many games this season, but a common thread through many of those rare victories is the play of Kelly Olynyk. Basically, when he scores a lot, Detroit wins. The salary cap-strapped Pistons did not have much money to make a free agent splash in...
Heading into Sunday night’s game, the last time the Detroit Pistons defeated the Charlotte Hornets, our world was a much different place. In fact, the Pistons had not defeated the Hornets since Oct. 18, 2017, which also happened to be the first game at Little Caesars Arena. For those of you who are wondering, the Pistons and Hornets had played 15 times since that day.
A back-and-forth game nearly ended in disaster for the Detroit Pistons. With the score tied at 116 with 4.1 seconds left, Jerami Grant's inbounds pass was picked off by Lamelo Ball. The Charlotte Hornets star immediately launched a long two-pointer that missed the mark, allowing the game to go into overtime.

Kelly Olynyk, Jalen Suggs, Killian Tillie take advantage of NBA break, pay visit to Gonzaga for Senior Night
Kelly Olynyk had a few instant observations upon returning to Gonzaga for the first time in approximately five years. First and foremost, the energy, noise and passion at McCarthey Athletic Center were as good as he remembers it. “Same energy,” Olynyk said. “It’s live in there, man.”
Detroit Bad Boys
After more than two months absent from the court, Detroit Pistons fans finally saw the return of Kelly Olynyk. Olynyk was the team’s biggest offseason addition in Troy Weaver’s second season. Many people, myself included, were excited to see how Olynyk would help space the floor for this Pistons offense, and even if not starting, we figured he’d be in the closing lineup with Cade Cunningham and company. We only got a 10-game sample size of Olynyk to start the season (some of those games w/o Cade) before the unfortunate knee injury. At the time of the injury, he was putting up the following statline:

The Detroit Pistons finally got some good news on the injury front, as both Jerami Grant and Kelly Olynyk were removed from the injury report and should be ready to go soon. We’ll have to wait to see if that means tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans, but the Pistons are going to have to do some shuffling of the depth chart soon.
Detroit Bad Boys
The kids are really hitting their stride for the Detroit Pistons. Cade Cunningham is making his claim for NBA Rookie of the Year, Saddiq Bey is scoring 30 points somewhat regularly, Isaiah Stewart just bodied Evan Mobley and Killian Hayes has seemed to find something that works coming off the bench.
The Detroit Pistons have been without their two highest-paid players for most of the season. But Jerami Grant and Kelly Olynyk could both return soon. Grant and Olynyk weren't listed...
