Jordan Spieth found himself in a bizarre situation during the first round of the JP McManus Pro-Am. On the 14th green, the three-time major champ scooped up his ball before holing out because his score would not count for the team portion. However, Spieth neglected the fact that this high-profile pro-am also features an individual leaderboard for professionals. Since Spieth did not finish out the hole, he was disqualified from the individual portion of the event.

At Least 6 Dead After Gunman Opens Fire at July 4 Parade in Highland Park, Illinois

At least 24 people have been injured and six are dead after a shooter opened fire at a July 4th parade in the central business district of Highland Park, a suburb in Illinois. In a press conference Monday afternoon, police said that the suspect — described as a white male, approximately 18-20 years old, with longer black hair, a small build, and wearing a white or blue T-shirt — is at large.

Motorcyclist killed after running red light is San Jose's 36th fatal crash

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) – Police said they're investigating the death of a motorcyclist who died after running a red light back in June. Officers responded to a report of a traffic collision in the area of Monterey Road and Branham Lane around 8:54 p.m. on June 3. Responding officers arrived to find the crash involved two vehicles – a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle and a 2002 Mercury SUV. The motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital, while the SUV driver did not report any injuries.

Adams County man arrested after he called deputies to home

An Adams County man was arrested after he called deputies to report that his girlfriend was under the influence of multiple substances. Deputies were called to the disturbance where the reporting party was a 30-year-old male. When they arrived, deputies spoke with the man and his girlfriend, a 16-year-old female. While there, they learned that the couple shared a 1-year-old child. In Colorado, sexual assault on a child includes children between 15 and 17 if the other participant is at least 10 years older than the victim. For children under the age of 15, the other participant cannot be 4 years older than the victim. The male was taken into custody.

Parker County Sheriff seeks assistance from public after shooting

ALEDO, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - Suspects remain unidentified after a shooting near a birthday party in Aledo on July 3.At around 11:30 p.m., attendees said they heard several 'pops' outside the home, initially thinking the sounds were from fireworks.There were several bullet holes in the exterior walls and inside the home, located at the 100 block of Meadow Lane. Parker County Sheriff Russ Authier said there were over a dozen people in attendance at the birthday party.No injuries were reported and the case is still under investigation.The sheriff's office asks that anyone with information regarding the identity and location of the suspects to contact Parker County Sheriff's Office at 817-594-8845 or Parker County Crime Stoppers at 817-599-5555. Irvine man in custody after allegedly shooting, killing roommate

On Monday, a 39-year-old man from Irvine was arrested after allegedly shooting and killing one of his roommates and then pointing the gun at his own head, prompting a response from crisis negotiators and SWAT. Authorities received a 911 call at about 2:20 a.m. The caller asked police to come to a home on Leda after David Bohr allegedly shot one of his roommates, according to Sgt.
