Teen sensations The Linda Lindas have been relentlessly gaining momentum ever since their viral moment with their fiery anthem “Racist, Sexist Boy.” They’ve since released an unabashed album called Growing Up on Epitaph Records, as well as announced that they’ll be opening for the New York City rock legends the Yeah Yeah Yeahs later this year. Today, they’re back with more cool stuff: a music video for their track “Why” which features an appearance from the one and only punk feminist icon Kathleen Hanna from Bikini Kill and Le Tigre.

Kathleen Hanna Joins Erica Dawn Lyle and Vice Cooler for New Song “Mirrorball”: Listen

Kathleen Hanna has teamed up with her Bikini Kill bandmate Erica Dawn Lyle and the Raincoats’ Vice Cooler for a new song. “Mirrorball” is part of a benefit compilation organized by Lyle and Cooler called Land Trust: Benefit for NEFOC, supporting the Northeast Farmers of Color Land Trust. The album is out June 3 exclusively on Bandcamp and it features contributions from Kim Gordon, the Linda Lindas, the Raincoats, and more. Kathleen Hanna sings lead vocals on a new song for the first time in nearly five years with “Mirrorball,” the first single from the upcoming benefit album Land Trust: Benefit for North East Farmers of Color. The self-released LP, out June 3 via Bandcamp, is the brainchild of Bikini Kill guitarist Erica Dawn Lyle and drum tech Vice Cooler (also of the Raincoats), with the pair penning Land Trust’s music during the pandemic. Kathleen Hanna, Erica Dawn Lyle, & Vice Cooler – “Mirrorball”

Kathleen Hanna is on a new song — the Bikini Kill singer’s first in more than four years. “Mirrorball” was written by Bikini Kill’s Erica Dawn Lyle and Vice Cooler from the Raincoats, who have collaborated on a 16-track album: LAND ACT: Benefit For North East Farmers Of Color. In fact, Lyle and Cooler wrote and arranged all of the songs on LAND ACT, who invite a different guest to sing on each one. All of the album’s proceeds will benefit the Northeast Farmers Of Color Land Trust.
