We talk a lot about Sam Elliott here at Outsider. He is, after all, a badass cowboy who emanates talent. But Elliott isn’t the only gifted one in his household. In fact, his wife Katharine Ross was receiving Oscar nominations back in the 70s. And the leading lady is still going strong at 82 years old. However, Ross shares some reasons why becoming an actress was a bit rocky in the beginning.
She stars in one of the most iconic films of the 20th century, 1967’s The Graduate. Her face and her character are core to one of the most famous movie moments within the film as actress Katharine Ross and her The Graduate costar Dustin Hoffman ride off together on a bus. Taking off together after Hoffman’s character convinces Ross’s Elaine Robinson to from her wedding, heading off into the unknown with him.
When Katharine Ross rode off with Dustin Hoffman in the final scene of The Graduate, the duo likely didn’t know they were making film history. Both Ross and Hoffman enjoyed immediate success after the film’s release, with Ross earning a Best Supporting Actress nod as well as a Golden Globe win for New Star of the Year.
Hollywood power couple Sam Elliott and Katharine Ross were spotted enjoying some downtime away from their professional, engaged in a casual trip running errands in Malibu this week. Besides work engagements, the two are not often seen out in such a candid fashion, especially in light of the pandemic. But...
Sam Elliott and Katharine Ross tied the knot over three decades ago. Today, the actors have a deeply loving relationship. Elliott once said that their relationship has lasted so long because they work hard at it. They put in the extra work not only because they love one another but also because they want it to last. Before they were married, they crossed paths for the first time on the set of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Actor Sam Elliott is married to Katharine Ross. Since they are both actors, they have gotten the chance to work together from time to time. For instance, they worked together in The Ranch in 2016. Sam admitted that it is a “whole different energy” to be able to work with his wife.
Sam Elliott loves acting alongside his wife, Katharine Ross. Elliott, who will appear in the “Yellowstone” prequel “1883”, talked about it. What, for Elliott, makes working a little bit better for him when she’s around? He shared his thoughts in a 2016 interview with the Los Angeles Times. At the time, Elliott and Ross had just finished working in a film together called “The Ranch”.
He doesn’t seem to have many issues getting acting roles these days, but it appears Sam Elliott’s wife Katharine Ross seems to have the opposite kind of luck in the entertainment industry. Born in January of 1940, Katharine Ross made her film debut in Shenandoah in 1965 and is known...
Sam Elliott’s wife Katharine Ross became one of Hollywood’s leading ladies. But similar to Elliott, she had humble beginnings. When she first moved to Hollywood, Ross was almost dirt poor. The aspiring actor couldn’t even afford the luxury of owning a telephone. As she recently recounted to Daily Mail, Ross...
Sam Elliott said the first time he saw his wife, he couldn’t work up the nerve to speak to her. He could barely look at her. It would be another nine years before he got the chance again, and this time, he wasn’t going to let the chance get away again.
John Wayne played a ton of roles. He perfected the cowboy swagger and he was the perfect soldier or gun fighter. He played a good cop, too. There also was a time when John Wayne tried another role. Remember when he played a guy who fought big, uncontrollable fires on oil rigs? The movie was called Hellfighters and it came out in 1968.
The western leading man, Sam Elliott, first met his famous actress wife, Katharine Ross, on the set of a movie. She had a leading role in the 1969 film, “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” and Elliott had a small, untitled role. However, the two really got to know each...
Sam Elliot’s wife, Katharine Ross, is a rockstar in her own right. She has been in Hollywood for a long time and has done well for herself. Her relationship with Elliot is incredibly wholesome, but there is another love in their life. For both Sam Elliot and Katharine Ross, horses...
Hollywood actor, Sam Elliott, began stealing hearts back in the early ’70s. Elliott made his big-screen debut in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in 1969 causing many to fall in love with the star instantly. While the actor featured in many movies, his career took off in 1985 when...
Sam Elliott, the Hollywood cowboy we all know and love, has held a spot in America’s heart since the early 1970s. Most people know him for his roles in many Western films around that time. For instance, he starred in the 1985 movie Mask, which ended up being a timeless classic in American western cinema. That same year, he sat down for an interview to talk about his new role, his life, and his success.
Sam Elliott and Katharine Ross played a couple in a film before they were one in real life. Prior to that, they met while on the set of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in 1969. At the time, Sam was new to acting while Karathine was already a leading lady. She got her big break as Elaine Robinson in The Graduate.
Sam Elliott has had a lot of iconic roles throughout his career. But for one movie role, he needed a little convincing from his wife Katharine Ross. We can’t blame Elliott for wanting to enjoy his honeymoon. The actor had just tied the knot with Ross after years of dating. And the two were enjoying the blue skies and tranquil waters of Hawaii. Elliott was in no hurry to leave his relaxing beach paradise for the hustle and bustle of Hollywood. But his agent had the perfect movie role for Elliott that would widen his star appeal even further.
