Kaskisuo agreed to terms on a two-year contract with Swedish club Leksands IF on Friday, he announced on social media. After two years at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Kaskisuo made the jump to the professional ranks, playing in the ECHL, AHL and NHL over the past five seasons. The Finnish netminder came up through the Jokerit (KHL) youth system but will be playing professionally in Europe for the first time in his career. Barring a fantastic 2021-22 campaign, this could mark the end of Kaskisuo's time in the NHL.

Kaskisuo was assigned to the taxi squad Monday. Juuse Saros is dealing with an undisclosed injury, and if he's not healthy in time for Tuesday's game versus the Stars, Kaskisuo should be promoted to back up Pekka Rinne again. Kaskisuo played 27 AHL games last season, posting a .909 save percentage and a 2.79 GAA.

Kaskisuo was promoted from the taxi squad for Sunday's game against Chicago, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. With Juuse Saros (undisclosed) out Sunday, Kaskisuo will serve as Pekka Rinne's backup. The 27-year-old stopped all three shots he faced in relief in his only NHL appearance this season.

Kaskisuo was designated for the taxi squad Wednesday. Juuse Saros (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Wednesday, so Kaskisuo was sent to the taxi squad. The 27-year-old made a relief appearance March 11, turning aside all three shots that he faced. He'll continue to travel and practice with the big club while on the taxi squad.

Kaskisuo was promoted to the active roster Thursday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports. Juuse Saros (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday. Kaskisuo was promoted to serve as Pekka Rinne's backup until Saros returns to action. The 27-year-old spent most of the 2019-20 season in the minors, recording a .909 save percentage across 27 contests with AHL Toronto.
