Urusei Yatsura Anime Confirms Broadcast Plans, Adds Kana Hanazawa

The new anime adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi’s classic Urusei Yatsura manga previously announced plans to air over four cours (units of typically 11-14 episodes that make up one seasonal broadcast), and now we know that the first two will air consecutively when the “all-star” anime begins this October. In addition to that, a new cast member has been revealed, with Kana Hanazawa (Nadeko Sengoku in Monogatari) stepping into the role of Ran.

Voice Actor Kana Hanazawa Comes Down with COVID, Cancels Concert

Another voice actor has announced a positive COVID-19 test. This time it’s Kana Hanazawa, who confirmed the results of a PCR test after coming down with a sore throat on April 5. While Hanazawa recovers, her HANAZAWA KANA Live 2022 “blossom” performance—which was originally scheduled to be held in Kobe on April 10—has been canceled.

Goodbye, DonGlees! Anime Film Adds Kana Hanazawa to Cast

A new cast member has been revealed for Goodbye, DonGlees!, an original anime film that’s on the way from director Atsuko Ishizuka (No Game, No Life, A Place Further Than the Universe). Joining the main cast consisting of Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro Kamado in Demon Slayer), Yuki Kaji (Eren Jaeger from Attack on Titan), and Ayumu Murase (Shoyo Hinata in Haikyu!!) is Kana Hanazawa (Shirase Kobuchizawa in A Place Further Than the Universe), who will voice the photography-loving student Chibori Urayasu.
