Clarkson Physical Therapy Student Ariana Kelly Awarded Kafka-Phillips Memorial Scholarship

Clarkson University Doctor of Physical Therapy student Ariana Kelly ‘24 has been awarded the Kafka-Phillips Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was created to celebrate two people who shared a deep love for life and adventure and strong dedication to the physical therapy profession, Kathleen Kafka, and Reed Phillips. It was established in 2014 by their classmates, the DPT Class of 2016, and the Physical Therapy Department.

Kafka named CEO of Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce

Tia Kafka has been named the new Chief Executive Officer of the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce. She will begin her new position on April 4, 2022. Kafka has served as the Convention and Visitors Bureau Director for the Chamber since 2019. Prior to that, Kafka was the Communications Director for the South Dakota Department of Social Services. Her passion for community involvement, along with her current work in the industry will continue to propel the Chamber forward in serving its membership.
