Justin Fields Comes to the Defense of His Receiving Corps

One thing I think we’ll see more out of Justin Fields is an increase in public displays of leadership. It can be challenging to establish yourself as a leader in your rookie season. And when it came to Fields, finding his footing in a leadership capacity was a smidge more difficult because he began the year behind Andy Dalton on the depth chart. Fields was always going to be the face of the future, but it isn’t easy to get to that point when you’re playing second-fiddle behind a respected veteran. But that isn’t an issue any more for Fields. Moreover, he isn’t wasting much time in showing off some leadership qualities.

It Sounds Like Justin Fields and Lucas Patrick Are Already Hitting It Off

It sounded like the Chicago Bears’ offense was off to a rough startback in April. I didn’t want to sound the alarms too loudly at the time. But I couldn’t ignore it altogether. Even still … we were looking at an offense with a new head coach and play-caller. That perspective is essential to keep in mind. As is the fact that we were seeing an offensive line and group of receivers that hadn’t yet been addressed with draft picks. And we’re still trying to evaluate a second-year quarterback working through schematic and mechanical changes. In short, we knew there would always be highs and lows, peaks and valleys, and turbulence along the way. But whole that day might’ve shown off the lows, it is only fair to share the highs.

How the Chicago Bears have helped Justin Fields this offseason

Week 1 of the Chicago Bears‘ 2022 season literally cannot get here fast enough. We have reached the point in the offseason where we, as fans, are having fervent debates over the team’s third-string quarterback. The month of May, for football fans, is the equivalent of being locked in a house with your extended family for four months and told you can only discuss religion and politics. At some point, you’re going to blow the roof off the place, and for our Bears family locked in Twitter for the past four months, that time is now.
