Star Wars: Lucasfilm President Hopes to Find Filmmaker Like Jon Favreau to Spearhead Cinematic Future

In the years since Jon Favreau got involved in the live-action Star Wars world on Disney+ with The Mandalorian, he has gone on to be involved in various other corners of the galaxy far, far away, as he has helped orchestrate the intertwined nature of the various properties that unfold in that landscape. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy recently pointed out that she's currently hoping to find a similar figure who can make such a commitment to the cinematic future of the Star Wars saga, while noting that she knows just how much of a commitment such a task would be not only creatively, but also an obligation of time.

StarWars.com announced Thursday creator and showrunner Jon Favreau and executive producer Dave Filoni are scheduled to make their first appearance at Star Wars Celebration since Disney+ Original series The Mandalorian premiered in November 2019. Apple wants us to feast our eyes in the first look at their epic natural history event series, Prehistoric Planet. With a new episode debuting every day, the five-part documentary is produced by John Favreau and will feature the narration of three-time Emmy winner David Attenborough, as well as a score by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer. The docuseries proposes a fresh-new approach at the Cretaceous period, with new paleontology findings that include a revised look at how dinosaurs might actually have looked. The episodes are set to roll out in late May.
