• Former Appellate Division, Second Department Judge John Leventhal has joined the law firm of Aidala, Bertuna & Kamins as partner. He joins managing partners, Arthur Aidala, Marianne Bertuna and Hon. Barry Kamins. Judge Leventhal retired from the court at the end of 2020. • Hinshaw & Culbertson has promoted Matthew Corwin to partner. He is a member of the firm’s financial services practice. • Tomislav Joksimovic has returned to Clifford Chance as counsel to the firm’s U.S. litigation team as counsel. He joins from Quinn Emanuel. • Alston & Bird has promoted Lisa Lanham, Neal McLaughlin, Heather Ripley, John Spears and Kristen Truver to partners. • Urban Resource Institute, a provider of domestic violence shelters and homeless shelters in New York City, has named two senior staff members to their office of general counsel: Nicole Lazarre is now general counsel and chief compliance officer, and Deepal Chadha is now deputy general counsel. • Ned Bassen has joined Becker as a shareholder in the firm’s business litigation group where he will focus on labor and employment litigation. He was previously a partner at Hughes Hubbard & Reed. • Grant & Eisenhofer has added Barbara Hart as a partner. She was previously president and CEO of the litigation firm Lowey Dannenberg. The firm also hired and Sindhu Daniel who was formerly a shareholder with Baron & Budd. • Cassin & Cassin has promoted Michael Discenza and Kelsey Halverson to partners. • Morrison & Foerster has promoted James Newton to partner in the firm’s finance department. • Haynes and Boone has promoted Don Shiman to partner in the firm’s business planning & tax practice group. Brian Sung was also promoted to partner in the firm’s financial transactions practice group. • Boutique firm Kleinberg Kaplan has promoted Joshua Guttman to partner. • BakerHostetler has promoted the following attorneys to partner in the firm’s New York office: Camille Bent, Asim Grabowski-Shaikh, Shawn Hough, Ganesh Krishna, Nkosi Shields, Maximillian Shifrin, and Amanda Van Hoose Garofalo. • Greenwich House has named Alexis Offen as the organization’s first chief operations and strategy officer. Offen most recently served as COO at the Trust for Governors Island. • Patterson Belknap has promoted three attorneys to partner and five to counsel.
