USC's revamping of its coaching support staff continued on Wednesday with the hiring of former Texas safety John Bonney as a quality control analyst. The Texas native Bonney was a four-star prospect in the 2014 class, rated the No. 253 overall prospect and the No. 19 safety, according to the 247Sports Composite. Bonney played four seasons with the Longhorns – and under USC safeties coach Craig Naivar for one season – before transferring to Texas Tech for his final season as a graduate transfer in 2018. He finished his career with 117 total tackles, 3.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, one pick and 14 passed defended.
