Braves' Johan Camargo: Sent back to Triple-A

Camargo was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday. Camargo continues to bounce on and off the fringe of Atlanta's roster, with his latest stint in the big leagues lasting less than a week. He's gone 0-for-15 at the plate thus far this season. Tucker Davidson was recalled in a corresponding move.

As expected, the Atlanta Braves have placed outfielder Marcell Ozuna on the 10-day injured list with two fractured fingers on his left hand. Ozuna is expected to miss six weeks with the injury. Camargo was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday. Camargo was called up by Atlanta on Monday, but he didn't appear in any games during his most recent stint in the big leagues. Ender Inciarte was reinstated from the paternity list in a corresponding move.

Braves recall Johan Camargo from Gwinnett, place Ender Inciarte on paternity list

Well, it has been a busy day in Braves country. First, we found out that the Braves’ best starter, at least so far, this season is headed to the IL as Huascar Ynoa broke his hand after leaving his most recent start and punching a bench. If that isn’t this Braves’ season in a nutshell, I don’t know what is.

Braves' Johan Camargo: Called up yet again

Camargo was recalled by Atlanta on Monday. Camargo is now on his fourth separate stint on the big-league roster. He was recalled last Monday before being optioned Saturday, but he's up again just two days later with Ender Inciarte heading to the paternity list. None of his previous opportunities led to regular at-bats, and it's unlikely this one will, either.

Braves recall Johan Camargo

The Braves just announced they have recalled Johan Camargo from AAA Gwinnett after optioning Victor Arano and Jasseel De La Cruz to the Stripers following last night’s game. Camargo didn’t have a single hit in his first stint with the Braves this year, going 0-11 with a walk. However, he was off to a red-hot start with the Stripers, racking up eight hits and nine walks in just 32 plate appearances — good for an impressive .531 OBP. He also already has three homers in just six games.

Braves 2021 Farm Report: Johan Camargo and Shea Langeliers both slug multiple homers as the organization sweeps the day

AAA – Gwinnett Stripers (4-1) W, 7-3 vs. Charlotte Knights. The Stripers and Knights traded zeros for the first four innings, until in the 5th, Gwinnett’s Travis Demeritte slapped a line drive to left and hustled for a sliding-double. The hustle from Demeritte was key, given a few batters later, Phillip Ervin was able to knock Demeritte in to score off a grounder to third, giving the Stripers a 1-0 lead through five.

Atlanta Braves Minor League Recap: Shea Langeliers and Johan Camargo each hit two homers

The Gwinnett offense is on a tear to start the season, with the handful of players that could provide bench support in Atlanta leading the charge. The Stripers went 12 up and 12 down through the first four innings of this game, but the Charlotte starter started to struggle halfway through the second trip around the order and Gwinnett broke out. A leadoff double by Travis Demeritte sparked the offense in the fifth, and they loaded the bases with one out. An RBI ground out gave them a run and the lead, but a double play erased a chance to score more.

Braves' Johan Camargo: Returns to roster

Camargo was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday. Camargo missed out on the Opening Day roster but is already in his third separate stint in the big leagues this season. He's seen infrequent action during his time with the team, going hitless in 12 at-bats. There's little reason to believe he'll suddenly have an important role this time around.

The club optioned RHP Bryse Wilson and INF Johan Camargo to the alternate training site following last night’s game.

Braves reinstate Ehire Adrianza from restricted list, send Johan Camargo to alternate site

One of the more fun stories from spring training this year was the emergence of Ehire Adrianza as the utility infielder version of Babe Ruth. No, that performance was not and is not sustainable, but the guy played extremely well and seemingly won a bench spot over perennial bench player Johan Camargo who had been expected to handle the utility infield duties going into camp.

Braves' Johan Camargo: Sent back down

Camargo was optioned to the alternate site Friday. Ehire Adrianza was reinstated from the restricted list, so Camargo's services as a bench infielder were no longer needed. He will provide depth throughout the campaign.
