49ers news: Joe Staley isn’t buying Russell Wilson-Broncos hype

The 49ers are more than happy to see Russell Wilson out of the NFC West, but Niners legend Joe Staley doesn’t think the Broncos are infinitely better after the blockbuster trade. Leave it to now-retired San Francisco 49ers left tackle Joe Staley to speak his mind. Always loved that...

Rams' Andrew Whitworth calls out former 49ers lineman Joe Staley for 'embarrassing' tweet

Joe Staley committed an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on social media — in Andrew Whitworth's mind, at least. After Whitworth and the Rams defeated the 49ers in Sunday's NFC championship game, the 40-year-old called out the former San Francisco offensive tackle in an Instagram post. Earlier in the week, Staley trolled Whitworth's wife, Melissa, on Twitter. She had offered to buy tickets from Rams fans in order to prevent SoFi Stadium from being filled with 49ers supporters, and Staley quote tweeted her and mimicked her phrasing.

NFC Championship: Joe Staley, Frank Gore want to help 49ers fans take over stands at Rams stadium

The Los Angeles Rams may be the home team against the San Francisco 49ers Sunday in the NFC Championship, but the sight of 49ers fans flooding SoFi Stadium just weeks ago when the two NFC West rivals met in Week 18 has locals fearing another San Francisco takeover in the grandstands. To combat that, the Rams ticket office is restricting ticket sales to Greater Los Angeles Area residents, though two former 49ers stars seem to be doing their part in swinging the crowd toward the 49ers once again.

No, 49er fans, Joe Staley doesn’t have tickets to sell you

The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Green Bay Packers Saturday night, in the snow, at frigid Lambeau Field to punch their ticket to the NFC Championship game. After the victory the team knew they would be facing either the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the Los Angeles Rams, depending on the result of their Divisional Round matchup Sunday afternoon.

Joe Staley discusses buying tickets from Rams fans for title game on KNBR

Joe Staley’s just having a little fun with it. The 49ers offensive tackle admitted on KNBR that he felt like stirring the pot Monday morning, doing some light trolling of Melissa Whitworth, wife of Rams offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth, and her plea for Rams fans not to sell their tickets to 49ers fans.

Joe Staley explains why Rams were unable to match 49ers physicality on Sunday

The Rams might have landed the first few punches on Sunday, but the 49ers landed the knockout. A boxing metaphor seems apropos for the back-and-forth thriller, that saw San Francisco punch their ticket to the postseason with a 27-24 overtime victory. Los Angeles spent much of the lead-up to the...

Joe Staley Statement: 49ers are best team in NFL right now

Based on the overall NFL standings, the 49ers are not the best team in the NFL this season. Entering their Thursday night game against the Tennessee Titans (9-5) at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, San Francisco (8-6) currently is behind 11 other teams. But former 49ers left tackle and current NBC...

Joe Staley finds silver linings in 49ers’ loss to Seahawks, says Bengals offer ‘a big challenge’

A loss like Sunday's to the Seattle Seahawks may have sat with Joe Staley for a while during his playing days. But now, the retired San Francisco 49ers tackle turned NBC Sports Bay Area analyst, like the less-obsessive fans, just gets to go on with his week. There is no doubt that he still loves his former team, but he gets to be more objective about the losses. And it's helpful that he doesn't have to go into the facilities on Monday morning to review the film of his team's mistakes.

49ers news: Joe Staley tore up team after embarrassing defeat

The humiliation of smashing the Cardinals without Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, AJ Green and JJ Watt should be enough punishment for 49ers, but Joe Staley added more after the match.
