Joe Pickett: Spectrum Originals Orders Drama Series Starring Michael Dorman

Spectrum Originals has picked up the Joe Pickett series which is based on the novels by C.J. Box. Michael Dorman (For All Mankind) has been cast in the title role of the drama. The character is a game warden who, with his family, tries to deal with the changing political climate in their small rural town.

Michael Dorman to star in Spectrum Originals' Joe Pickett based on the Big Sky author's novels

The For All Mankind and Patriot vet will play the title role in the drama series based on C.J. Box’s bestselling series of novels. "Joe Pickett follows a game warden (Dorman) and his family as they navigate the changing political and socio-economic climate in a small rural town in Wyoming," according to Deadline. "Surrounded by rich history and vast wildlife, the township hides decades of schemes and secrets that are yet to be uncovered. The series will air for a nine-month exclusive run on Spectrum." This is the second adaptation of Box's work over the past year after David E. Kelley adapted his Cassie Dewell novels for ABC as Big Sky.

Joe Pickett challenges city fees in lawsuit

Former state Rep. Joe Pickett has sued the city over the franchise fee assessed on El Pasoans’ water bills, charging that it is an illegal tax. Pickett, who served on the El Paso City Council in the early 90s, says the fee got his attention last year when the city raised it to $6, prompting him to write a letter to El Paso City Manager Tommy Gonzalez in February 2020 asking what the fee was for.
