MONROE, La. – Joe Graves, who served as tight ends coach and special teams coordinator at Georgia Southern in 2021, has returned to ULM as tight ends coach under second-year head coach Terry Bowden. Graves previously spent three years at ULM from 2018-20, including the last two seasons as running backs coach.

Reports: Joe Graves to coach Georgia Southern running backs

STATESBORO — Georgia Southern is set to hire Joe Graves as its new running backs coach, according to multiple media reports. Graves comes to Statesboro after three seasons with fellow Sun Belt school Louisiana-Monroe. With the Warhawks, he spent 2020 and 2019 as running backs coach and the 2018 season as a graduate assistant, working with the offensive line.

Joe Graves is expected to become Georgia Southern’s running backs coach, sources told FootballScoop on Saturday. Graves spent the past three seasons in the same role at ULM, and prior to that spent two seasons in the same role at Southeastern Louisiana, his alma mater. A fast riser, Graves graduated from SLU in 2016, where he was a three-time all-conference offensive lineman for the Lions.
