Joan Jett

Joan Jett is an American rock singer, musician, composer, actor, and record producer. She reached the peak of her career after being associated with the band ‘Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.’ She was also associated with an all-girl band, ‘The Runaways.’ The band became famous after the chart-topping success of their single ‘Cherry Bomb.’ She started learning to play the guitar at the age of 14, after she gained a keen interest in music. However, she soon quit her training, as her tutor wanted her to make a career in country music, while Joan wanted to be a rocker. Soon, she arrived in California, where she founded the band ‘The Runaways.’ Its success helped her go solo toward the late 70s. However, she did not achieve significant success as a solo musician. She finally started the band ‘Joan Jett & the Blackhearts,’ which then became her biggest claim to fame. She is also known to be a prominent feminist icon and an animal rights activist. With her albums certified as either “gold” or “platinum,” she has been inducted in the ‘Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.’
