Yuvraj Singh Dhesi (born July 19, 1986) is a Canadian professional wrestler currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the Raw brand under the ring name Jinder Mahal. He is currently inactive due to a knee injury. Having begun his career on the independent circuit, he joined WWE in 2010, making his debut on the company's main roster the following year. After a short-lived alliance with his kayfabe brother-in-law The Great Khali, Mahal formed the group 3MB with fellow wrestlers Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre before both Mahal and McIntyre were released from the company in June 2014. Mahal returned to WWE two years later with a dramatically improved physique and received a push following WrestleMania 33, culminating in a win over Randy Orton at Backlash in May 2017 for the WWE Championship. Mahal thus became the 50th WWE Champion and the first wrestler of Indian descent to win the WWE Championship. After losing the title in November 2017, he later won the WWE United States Championship at the 34th edition of WWE's flagship pay-per-view event WrestleMania in April 2018. The following year, he captured the WWE 24/7 Championship twice in June 2019.

In the latest episodes of Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown, WWE has gone to split several of its tag teams, some recently born and others a little longer. After seeing Rhea Ripley attack her former tag team partner Liv Morgan and after seeing MVP hitting Bobby Lashley in the back, then teaming up with Omos, this night at Friday Night Smackdown it seems to have been the start of a split that will bring two athletes of Asian origins, to take a solo path on the company's main roster.

Jinder Mahal Apparently Finishes Run on ABC’s Big Sky

Jinder Mahal’s gig on the ABC drama Big Sky appears to be at an end. PWInsider reports that Mahal’s character, the cartel enforcer Dhruv, was killed off in an episode earlier this month on April 7th after a confrontation with protagonist Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick). The two fought in a drug lab and Dhruv died of a drug overdose from fentanyl that was thrown in his face. Dhruv’s body was later discovered later in the episode, confirming that he was dead.

WWE's Ricochet Retains Intercontinental Championship against Jinder Mahal on SmackDown

They locked up instantly and Mahal slammed Ricochet down and applied a hold to ground him. Then Mahal hit him with some forearms and then slammed him down hard on his back before going for a cover, but he kicked out. They traded covers for a minute and then Ricochet hit a beautiful Shooting Star Press, but Mahal came back swinging. Ricochet bought himself enough space and time to head up to the top rope, but Shanky pulled Mahal out of the ring. Ricochet then sailed from the top and collided into both stars, and then he pushed Mahal into the ring.

Jinder Mahal reveals his future plans

Jinder Mahal is the only Indian-born wrestler in WWE history to win the WWE Championship and the United States Championship. In the episode of SmackDown on January 14, Mahal and Shanky took part in a 'Fatal 4-Way Tag Team match' to determine the number 1 contenders for the couple titles held by the Usos.
