Jimmy Crute is not fighting in 2022. Crute took to Instagram on Monday to announce that he needs knee reconstruction and will be out for the remainder of the year. The ‘Brute’ explained he accumulated a lot of damage to his knee in his most recent UFC fights and was worried it could be a potential career-ender if he did not get the surgery.

Jimmy Crute will be out of action until 2023. The UFC light heavyweight announced this week via Instagram that he will not be competing this year as he is soon to undergo knee reconstruction surgery for an injured leg. Crute, 25, did not indicate which knee would be worked on, though he suffered a notable injury to his left leg in a fight against Anthony Smith at UFC 261 in April of last year.

Jimmy Crute, (12-3 MMA), currently competes in the light heavyweight division of the UFC. Crute’s last fight was on December 3rd, 2021 at UFC Vegas 44 where he matched up with Jamahal Hill (9-1 MMA). The outcome was a brutal knockout loss with Hill dropping Crute just 48 seconds into the fight.

UFC light heavyweight contender Jimmy Crute issued a statement following his brutal KO loss to Jamahal Hill at UFC Vegas 44. Hill needed just 48 seconds to drop Crute and knock him out with follow-up punches on the ground. For Hill, it was a huge bounceback win after getting finished by Paul Craig in devastating fashion in his last outing. For Crute, meanwhile, it was a brutal KO loss, and his second straight defeat via stoppage after losing via TKO to Anthony Smith in his last fight. To make matters worse, Crute appeared to suffer damage around the eye area of his face.

Jamahal Hill needed just 48 seconds to back up his claims that he’s one of the best boxers in the UFC.
