Jil Sander RTW Fall 2022

In a venue reminiscent of an artist’s atelier, with plush curtains and replicas of ancient Greek statues scattered at the center, Lucie and Luke Meier explored a gentler kind of dressing based on their unique interpretation of tailoring and femininity. It was beautiful.

Jil Sander Wants You to Match Your Furniture to the Floors

Every piece of Jil Sander clothing is streamlined and expertly crafted, so it’s no surprise that the brand’s new Manhattan pop-up shop is the same. However, instead of the company’s signature neutrals, the retail space is swathed in a fluorescent yellow (our bets are on Babouche by Farrow & Ball), meant to unify each display. The everywhere shade is just one design idea we’re stealing from the store.

An energetic tension between opposites defined the overall concept behind Jil Sander’s spring 2022 collection, which marked the brand’s return to physical shows. The vibe felt cocooning and relaxing.

But outdoor vibes have always been a part of Jil Sander+, the diffusion line launched by creative directors Luke and Lucie Meier in 2019 to complement their monastically pure mainline with clothing designed for life outside the city.
