There was a lot of fun in Rome in June and July this past minor-league season. That was in large part thanks to the offensive onslaught from Atlanta Braves’ outfield prospect Jesse Franklin V, who went on a home-run hitting frenzy. Jesse Franklin “Frank” Foglesong, Jr., age 77, of Quincy, formerly of Dallas City, passed away Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021 at the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Quincy. Frank was born on Feb. 9, 1944 to Jesse Franklin Foglesong, Sr. and Kathryn Rebecca (Zern) Foglesong. Frank served his country June 1965 to June 1967. Upon returning home from his service, Frank worked at Winegard in Burlington, Iowa.

It was far from a successful day in the minor leagues as the Atlanta Braves affiliates only went 1-4, but there was plenty of action from the prospects at every level. Drew Waters crushed a home run for Gwinnett, and has begun hitting the ball hard again the past couple of nights. Before Gwinnett’s game yesterday, the big news was the major league call-up of prospect pitcher Kyle Muller, who wound up making his debut for the Braves versus the Red Sox on Wednesday night.
