ACC Faculty Spotlight: Jennifer Jones

This is my 10th year (Since August 2012) I have been teaching 14 years, 12 at Community Colleges in the Metro Area. I wish I had some great story about why I picked ACC in the first place, but unfortunately I don't. ACC had an opening for a full time position in Astronomy and I wanted my career to grown. I knew ACC was a great school, which made deciding to apply easy. I do know why I pick ACC continually. I love working at ACC; I love the people I work with and the students. I do not want to teach anywhere else.

A Rotary Moment: Jennifer Jones set to become first female Rotary International president this summer

After two pandemic-laden years, and so much civil unrest and disagreement, sometimes the world of community service seems like a roller coaster. Events are planned, and then canceled. Strong opinions within club leadership can make coming to a consensus difficult at times, and when people’s emotions are stretched thin to begin with, there are times when we are all ready to throw in the towel and just go have a margarita somewhere. Then a new day dawns, we awaken refreshed and renewed, and realize, ok, it was just a bad day. We’ll reschedule that event, and we love our Family of Rotary - strong opinions come from strong leaders. Let’s go have that margarita TOGETHER!
