Your tax dollars are funding war, by Jeff Scott

“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron.” — Dwight D. Eisenhower, April 16, 1953.

10 Questions with ... Jeff Scott

My first “radio experience” started at Lakeland Community College outside of Cleveland, Ohio. My sister had a show and was late for a class, so she threw me in front of the console with 2 cart machines and one turntable and I was on my way. No transmitter. Just an amplifier and speakers in the cafeteria. Years later after a pretty significant prodigal journey of club djing and all the “lifestyle” that brought, I applied at a “Dollar a Holler” AM Christian station in Houston, AM 1180, KGOL. From there, I landed at KSBJ where I worked for 10 years wearing many different hats including Morning show producer, Promotions Director, Special Events director, Host of Light Force radio and TV. I was eventually let go because the 20th Anniversary concert we put on in the Astrodome lost a significant amount of money. Chuck Pryor hired me to be his PD at WBGL. When he left, Barry Copeland promoted me to Station Manager. I’ve been at WBGL for 19 years. I love this town and the people I work with and serve.

Protect lake from golf course development, by Jeff Scott

I urge Chesterfield voters to consider the following information concerning Pine Grove Springs Country Club Inc. and majority shareholder/President Bob Maibusch. Why? If Pine Grove Springs is sold for development, many homes (2-acre zoning) could be built, replacing fairways and forestlands with multiple septic systems, driveways and roads with impermeable surfaces. Runoff carrying nutrients, silt and organic materials would increase, further degrading a lake already labeled by the N.H. Department of Environmental Services as “impaired.” The passage of the Spofford Lake Watershed Steep Slopes Overlay Ordinance (amendment 1) before further subdivisions in the watershed are approved is vital.

Jeff Scott wishes 2020 didn't count

TAMPA, Fla. - Year two under Jeff Scott is underway and the biggest lesson he learned in his first year as the Bulls' head coach is that there are no shortcuts to success. "It's frustrating because you want to see that change happen very quickly," said Scott. "Adversity creates growth and change. I think what we walked into year one, we need growth and change within our program and even us individually. So even though it was a difficult year to go through, I really think it was a necessary step for us to get to where we want to go."

We need healthcare professionals who are willing to evolve their old methods to newer evidence-based medicine to be true advocates for their patients.
