The Gaslight Anthem made their return with surprise NJ show, add NYC with Jeff Rosenstock to tour

Back in March, The Gaslight Anthem announced that they'd be returning to "full time status as a band," and they announced a fall tour with Jeff Rosenstock and Tigers Jaw. They got their return started earlier than expected, however, when they played a surprise set at Garwood, NJ's Crossroads on Saturday night (6/18), for what was to have been Brian Fallon's third solo show at the venue (rescheduled from December). "SURPRISE!!!! Looks like I decided to turn my third solo show @crossroadsgarwoodnj to a secret first @thegaslightanthem show!,” Fallon wrote on Instagram. "Good thing we live-streamed it."

Tim Kasher releases new song ft. Laura Jane Grace & Jeff Rosenstock (listen)

When Cursive/The Good Life frontman Tim Kasher announced his new solo album Middling Age, he revealed that one song, "Forever of the Living Dead," features guest vocals from Against Me!'s Laura Jane Grace and sax by Jeff Rosenstock, and that song is out now. It's a six-minute, melancholic slow-burner and it gets pretty explosive when Laura and Jeff come in. It also comes with a delightfully creepy music video. Here's what Tim says about all that:

Oceanator announces new LP co-prod. Bartees Strange, shares song ft. Jeff Rosenstock on sax

Oceanator, the project of Brooklyn indie rock musician Elise Okusami, has announced her sophomore album, Nothing's Ever Fine, due April 8 via Polyvinyl (pre-order on pink vinyl). The album was co-produced by Bartees Strange, alongside Elise herself and her brother/bandmate Mike Okusami. Elise handled guitars, synths, bass, keys, and vocals, and longtime collaborator Andrew Whitehurst drummed on most songs, and there are also a handful of other cool contributors. Lead single "Bad Brain Daze" features sax by recent tourmate (and Polyvinyl labelmate) Jeff Rosenstock and gang vocals from members of Groupie, Bad Moves, Maneka, The Sonder Bombs, Long Neck, Late Bloomer and Alright. "It’s a chorus of friends all going through it," Elise said. "It felt nice to have that connection, even if it was pieced together with emails of files."
