ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A somber anniversary, Wednesday that marks 10 years since Asheville Fire Captain Jeff Bowen lost his life in the line of duty. On July 28, 2011, Capt. Bowen was searching for anyone that might be trapped inside a burning building along Biltmore Avenue when he ran out of air. The 37-year-old Captain did not make it out of the building alive.
