BUFFALO, N.Y. (WOUB) – Ohio returned to the national stage Friday night when it made the trip to Buffalo to take on the Bulls in a game with huge stakes in the MAC standings. After a back-and-forth first half, Ohio was finally able to pull ahead late in the opening half and it rode the momentum in the second half to take home the win 74-53. After last week’s throttling on national television at the hands of the Toledo Rockets, Ohio looked to avenge that loss in a big way, and it did just that. The Bobcats and Bulls were dead locked at 9-9 with 15:45 left in the first half. From there, the Bobcats finally found a rhythm offensively and outscored the Bulls 28-11 to close out the half.

Men's Basketball: Jeff Boals delivers on his championship promise

Jeff Boals has kept his promise. He has repeated ad nauseum since taking over the Bobcats in 2019 that his main goal has been to win a Mid-American Conference Tournament. It has been his top priority as a coach, a former player and an alum. He wanted to give back to the college, team and community he has held an inch from his heart since 1991.
