Jaylen Marselles Brown (born October 24, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played one year of college basketball for the University of California Golden Bears, being named first-team All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. Declaring for the 2016 NBA draft after that season, he was selected by the Celtics with the third overall pick. As a professional, he has split his time between shooting guard and small forward. In the 2019 season at the all star break the Celtics were 38-16 and Jaylen Brown averaged 20.3 points a game.

It took them quite a while to get going but the Boston Celtics were able to overcome a slow start on the offensive end to secure a 93-80 comeback victory over the Miami Heat in Game 5 of their best-of-seven series to take a 3-2 lead. With the win, Boston will have an opportunity to wrap things up on Friday night on their home floor at TD Garden. After having rather putrid first halves, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown woke up for the Celtics in the final 24 minutes as the two finished the win combining for 47 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists.
