Seahawks' Jason Myers: Struggles in 2021

Myers connected on 17 of 23 field-goal attempts (74 percent) and 44 of 47 extra-point tries (94 percent) over 17 games during the 2021 season. Myers hit all 24 field-goal tries during the 2020 season, but he faced severe regression in 2021, making just six of 10 attempts from beyond 40 yards. His job isn't guaranteed for the 2022 season, as the Seahawks could save $4 million against the salary cap if they cut him. Over his three years in Seattle, he has connected on 64 of 75 field-goal attempts (85 percent) and 133 of 144 extra-point tries (92 percent).

Jason Myers got back on track Sunday against Detroit

After a 2020 season which included a 24/24 record on field goals and a 49/53 mark on extra points, few expected Jason Myers to be able to repeat such an impeccable performance. But even fewer expected the regression we’ve seen from the former Jacksonville kicker this season. Of his...

Seahawks' Jason Myers: Knocks home nine kicks

Myers made all three field-goal attempts and all six extra-point tries in Sunday's 51-29 win over the Lions. Myers made field goals from 51, 42 and 36 yards in his best game of the season. The 30-year-old has had a tough campaign, making 13 of 19 field goals leading up to Week 17, so this game could help his chances to stick with the Seahawks in 2022. If the Seahawks decide to move on, they'll save $4 million against the salary cap.

Seahawks kicker Jason Myers takes responsibility for loss

Not only did Seattle Seahawks kicker Jason Myers take full responsibility for the team’s loss on Sunday, but he went out of his way to defend his teammates as well. With the Seahawks leading the Chicago Bears 24-17 with 7:23 left in the game, Myers missed a 39-yard field goal that would have given Seattle a two-score lead. The Bears ended up scoring a touchdown and two-point conversion to win 25-24.

Jason Myers takes accountability online for miss, says don’t make it a Wilson-Carroll item

These times don’t exactly encourage voluntary accountability across professional sports. For the two years and counting of the pandemic, restrictions and safeguards from COVID-19 have meant reporters don’t interview players in their locker rooms after games. There are no media members in them anymore. Only the few players selected by the team plus the head coach explain in sterile, press-conference settings what went right and often, in the case of this lost Seahawks this season — went went wrong.

Seahawks' Jason Myers: Misses kick Sunday

Myers missed one of his two field-goal attempts but made all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 25-24 loss to the Bears. Myers converted from 36 yards on his first field goal, but his miss from 39 yards in the fourth quarter ultimately contributed toward Seattle taking a narrow defeat. The veteran has now missed a kick in three of his last four games and sits with just 72 points on the campaign, ranking outside the top 25 league-wide at his position.
