Royals' Jarrod Dyson: Could be in line for increased role

Dyson is in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Tigers, batting seventh and playing left field. With Andrew Benintendi on the injured list with a right rib fracture, the speedy Dyson will fill in as the left fielder Tuesday. Dyson could see more starts in coming days with Benintendi on the shelf until at least the latter part of next week.

Royals' Jarrod Dyson: Swipes another bag

Dyson went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's 11-2 loss to Oakland. Dyson worked a double-steal with Nicky Lopez in the third inning. Saturday was a rare start for Dyson, who took Michael Taylor's place in center field. Through 53 plate appearances, Dyson is slashing .277/.346/.383 with six steals, an RBI and seven runs scored this season.

Royals' Jarrod Dyson: Adds fourth steal

Dyson entered Thursday's 6-5 win over Minnesota as a pinch runner, stealing a base and scoring a run. While he didn't draw a plate appearance in the contest, Dyson was able to make an impact in the seventh inning. He replaced Carlos Santana on the basepaths, stole a base, then scored after a pair of errors from Minnesota's center fielder Gilberto Celestino. For the season, Dyson is 4-for-5 in stolen base attempts. He's added a .250/.318/.375 slash line while mainly entering games off the bench.
