Rangers recall Jarred Tinordi, assign Zac Jones to AHL

The Rangers have recalled Jarred Tinordi off the taxi squad, sending Zac Jones to the AHL to make room on the NHL roster. There isn’t much to read into here, as the Rangers are off for two weeks. Jones will get top pair time in the AHL. I still believe Jones will be back once the Rangers start up again.

Report: New York Rangers place defenseman Jarred Tinordi on waivers

Tinordi, 29, has only played in 7 games this season for the Blueshirts. He has 1 goal and 7 penalty minutes with a -5 rating. The rugged defenseman signed a two-year deal this summer with an AAV of $900K. He was assigned to a conditioning with the Wolf Pack earlier this season. In those five games with Hartford, Tinordi registered an assist, a +1 rating, and two shots.

Rangers recall Jarred Tinordi from conditioning assignment

The Rangers have recalled defenseman Jarred Tinordi from his conditioning assignment in Hartford. Before we all complain, this was inevitable. It was a conditioning assignment, not a full on assignment to Hartford, in which Tinordi would need to clear waivers. They had to recall him from his conditioning assignment. I also believe there is a roster freeze in place for the holidays, ending on December 26. This recall doesn’t apply to the freeze, since it was a conditioning assignment.

Jarred Tinordi sent to Hartford for conditioning

The Rangers have sent defenseman Jarred Tinordi to Hartford for a conditioning stint. This isn’t much of a surprise, as Tinordi hasn’t played much, and Libor Hajek just completed his stint as well. The Tinordi signing was always an odd one, to put it mildly. Even at one...

Rangers sign Jarred Tinordi for two years

Per Elliotte Friedman, the New York Rangers have signed veteran defenseman Jarred Tinordi for two years with an AAV of $900k. This is clearly a depth move to add to the team’s toughness. Tinordi will likely be one of the defensemen competing for the role as the seventh d-man, stepping into the role that once belonged to Brendan Smith.

Rangers sign defenseman Jarred Tinordi to two year contract

The Rangers have signed defenseman Jarred Tinordi to a two year contract at a $900k cap hit. Tinordi is your typical big dude at 6’6″ and 230 lbs. He’s your face puncher, mostly. Given the defense depth, he’s likely your 7/8D on the Rangers. He hasn’t played much in the past few years in the NHL. Expect him to bounce back and forth from the AHL.

Rangers sign Patrik Nemeth, Jarred Tinordi…more to come?

The worst kept secret for the New York Rangers became a reality when they signed Swedish defenseman Patrik Nemeth to a three-year for an Annual Average Value (AAV) of $2.5 million. He fills one need for the Rangers, a veteran defenseman who can be a steadying influence on one of the youngest blueline corps in the NHL.

Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo out for Game 4 vs. Islanders, replaced by Jarred Tinordi

UNIONDALE, N.Y. — Clad in a Spoked-B T-shirt and shorts, Brandon Carlo stood in the tunnel, watching his teammates run through their morning drills on Saturday. He had spent a little time riding a stationary bike. According to his coach, Bruce Cassidy, Carlo was “feeling better” after a hit from Islanders forward Cal Clutterbuck in Game 3 on Thursday left him woozy and wobbly legged.
