Baylor’s Jared Butler, Texas rower Alexandra Watson named Big 12 Sportspersons of the Year

Baylor guard Jared Butler and Texas rower Alexandra Watson have been named the 2020-21 Big 12 Sportspersons of the Year, the conference announced Thursday. The awards annually recognize student-athletes who displayed an extraordinary degree of sportsmanship, community service and academic achievement. This year’s winners were selected by a 10-person media panel. Butler led Baylor to the NCAA championship this season and was named the most outstanding player in the Final Four while earning first-team consensus All-American honors.
