Somerset - James "Jim" Wolk, 67, of Somerset passed unexpectedly on October 29, 2021, at home. He was born September 4, 1954 in Somerset, the son of Charles "Poppy" Wolk and Nellie (Maust) Wolk. He is preceded in death by his father; brother, Bill Wolk whose wife, Louise, Jim remained close with; and brother-in-law, Lanny Younkin. Jim is survived by his mother; sisters, Marge Younkin and Donna Wolk; children, Jesse (Annie) Wolk, Mario (Mandy) Corden and Nichole Corden; grandchildren, Aiden, Emmalee, Mikaela, Isaiah, Elijah, Adeline, Mason and Lydia; nephews, Nick (Barb) and Jason (Christine) Younkin; as well as other friends and family. He was employed by Gilmore Manufacturing for over 30 years until its closure. Jim was an avid outdoorsman and spent his free time biking trails, visiting with strangers he met along the way, and taking photos of wildlife, his favorite of which were rattlesnakes and copperheads. He delighted his granddaughter Emmalee with his visits, always bringing her critters from his adventures. He was a good man who loved the Spirit of the Lord and lived to worship Him. Friends and family will be received for a celebration of life on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the House of Prayer, 438 West Ridge Road, Somerset.
