True crime fans will soon have another series to add to their watch list. Peacock has announced a new true crime limited series titled A Friend of the Family. The series is based on the true story of Jan Broberg. Jan was kidnapped multiple times over a period of years by family friend Robert Berchtold. The family was left unprepared for the tactics Berchtold used to exploit their vulnerabilities, drive them apart, and turn their daughter against them.

Paquin stars as Mary Ann Broberg, a mother of three who realized too late that she missed warning signs and became close to her charismatic neighbor, Robert Berchtold, and trusted him around her oldest daughter, Jan. Lacy plays Robert, who plots the abduction of Jan. Hanks will portray Bob Broberg, Mary Ann's husband. Tipton plays Robert's wife Gail.

Paramount Players' new sci-fi thriller, Significant Other, has cast its two stars with Jake Lacy and Maika Monroe. Paramount Players recently won rights to the project in a bidding war, with Dan Berk and Robert Olsen serving as writers and directors on the project. The duo previously directed the thrillers Body and Villains, the latter of which also featured Monroe.
