Gov. Kelly appoints Jacob Peterson as district court judge

Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly announced the appointment of Salinan Jacob Peterson to the 28th District Court. The appointment comes after a vacancy created by Judge Patrick Thompson, who is retiring. The 28th District consists of Saline and Ottawa counties. Kelly said Peterson is well suited for the position with his connections and commitment to the community.

TOPEKA – Today Governor Laura Kelly appointed Jacob Peterson, Salina, to the 28th Judicial District vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Patrick Thompson. “Jacob has strong relationships throughout Saline and Ottawa Counties,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “He is passionate about supporting his community and has the diverse experience necessary to serve as a judge.”

His time to shine: Jacob Peterson set to make postseason debut in Game 5

CALGARY, Alberta -- After four games of watching from the sidelines, Jacob Peterson is set to make his postseason debut in a crucial Game 5 at Scotiabank Saddledome. The rookie forward took rushes alongside Vladislav Namestnikov and Luke Glendening during the club's morning skate on Wednesday, and the 22-year-old will get his opportunity in the spotlight in front of a "C of Red." Of his 12 goals during the regular season, five were game winners, which co-led NHL rookies and ranked third on the Stars. The Lidkoping, Sweden native ranked sixth on the team in goals and finished the season with 17 points in 65 games.
