Jason Kidd emerges as front-runner to coach Mavericks, who eye Nike exec to lead front office, per reports

Jason Kidd has emerged as a strong front-runner to become the next head coach of the Dallas Mavericks, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Additionally, the Mavs are also negotiating with Nike executive Nico Harrison about taking over as the team's president of basketball operations, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times. Stein notes that Harrison has developed strong relationships with players throughout the league through his work at Nike. Dallas' hope is to land both Harrison and Kidd.

O’Fallon man, 23, killed in Lincoln County crash

Charles J. Edgar of O’Fallon was one of three people killed in the head-on crash of two vehicles in Lincoln County early Thursday. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Edgar was driving a 2005 Chevy pickup northbound on Route JJ west of Lakeview Drive at 6:15 a.m. Upon applying the brakes, the truck skidded across the roadway and struck a 2007 Toyota Tundra driven by 40-year-old Richard E.
