Walker Kessler was on his third NBA team before he even got to step foot on an NBA court. After being initially selected by the Memphis Grizzlies on draft night, Kessler was dealt to the Minnesota Timberwolves that same night. Two weeks later, he was part of the Timberwolves’ package to the Utah Jazz in the trade that brought three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert to the Twin Cities.

Jabari Smith details emotions of not going No. 1 in 2022 NBA Draft out of Auburn, goals with Houston Rockets
Ex-Auburn star Jabari Smith learned quickly that the exposure in the NBA is just different. The pressure is ramped up to a whole new level, the lights are just brighter and the expectations for a No. 3 pick are just off the charts. So when Smith's jumpers didn't fall in the first two Summer League games for the Houston Rockets, Smith's phone started to blow up with negativity.
Former Auburn star Jabari Smith, who just went No. 3 in the NBA Draft, said in an interview Tuesday that he always wanted to play basketball at Kentucky. Smith said he ultimately ended up at Auburn because Kentucky waited too long to show interest in him. Check out his comments:
There has been no shortage of high-level recruits in recent years who have labeled Kentucky as their dream school, only to end up elsewhere. In reality, there are many variables involved in recruiting and a lot of stars have to align for it to occur. In other instances, some recruits only want a scholarship offer from Kentucky to validate their status as elite prospects and potential pros.

When you have the worst record for two straight years, you will likely be at the bottom of the rankings in critical categories. Two categories that stick out the most for the Houston Rockets from last year were shooting (20th in three-point percentage) and team defense (30th in points allowed per game).
Smith posted 17 points (7-13 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 5-7 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and one block in 28 minutes during Thursday's Summer League loss to the Trail Blazers. Smith was ice cold from three but shot well from two-point range and got to the free-throw line to ultimately muster 17 points on 13 shots. His shooting has been off in general, as he's slashing 41/26/71 in four Summer League appearances. Overall, he's averaged 15.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.3 blocks in 29.6 minutes per game.
The 2022 NBA Draft was not short on drama, because while we didn’t see a blockbuster trade involving a top-10 pick for a veteran as many had anticipated, the widely expected order at the top got turned on its head when the Orlando Magic took Paolo Banchero at No. 1 instead of Jabari Smith Jr.
Jabari Smith Jr. was one of the, if not the, biggest star in college basketball this past season. After putting up impressive numbers for the Auburn Tigers, Smith is now putting together an impressive Summer League with the Houston Rockets after being selected third overall in the NBA Draft at the end of last month.
Auburn fans saw Jabari Smith go off and trash talk several opposing teams last season. He's looking forward to doing that in the NBA. He was doing an interview with Bleacher Report's Taylor Rooks. She asked him who he was most excited to talk trash to in the NBA. Smith...
In Jabari Smith's third game of the NBA Summer League, he finally showed the world the player he is. He played great defense in his first two games and had multiple rebounds. He just could not find his jump shot. In his most recent game, he found he shot, scoring...

Sorry for the late recap, guys. The plan was to get you one last night, but as soon as the game was over, I took my five-year-old upstairs to read her a bedtime story, with the intent of writing the recap after she dozed off. Well, lucky me, I fell asleep as well — those of you with kids know how easy reading yourself to sleep can be — so now you’re getting a morning recap.
The overreactions on social media to Rockets rookie forward Jabari Smith Jr.'s debut against Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero were comical, to put it kindly. In the Rockets' Summer League opener against the Magic, Smith scored just 10 points, shooting 4-for-10 from the field, and 1-for-4 from 3; meanwhile, Banchero dazzled, scoring 17 points on 5-for-12 shooting (including 2-for-3 from 3), dishing out six assists, showing off his full repertoire of stepback jumpers, footwork and dribble moves. The peanut gallery was out in full force.
Houston Rockets rookie Jabari Smith had a relatively quiet night in his NBA Summer League debut a couple nights ago, but he more than made up for it Saturday with a stellar showing against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The former Auburn star filled up the stat sheet with 12 points, nine rebounds, four steals and three blocks.
Smith finished Monday's Las Vegas Summer League game against the Spurs with 19 points (6-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), nine rebounds, two steals, a block and an assist in 28 minutes. Playing in his third game in Vegas, Smith posted his highest scoring total of the summer en route...
No. 1 overall pick Paolo Banchero shined in his NBA Summer League debut Thursday night with the Orlando Magic, pouring in 17 points, six assists and four rebounds during a 91-77 win over the Houston Rockets in a head-to-head matchup with fellow rookie Jabari Smith. "I've always dealt with pressure...
