Tony Yayo Says He Brought J. Cole to 50 Cent Before He Was Signed by Jay-Z

Tony Yayo maintains he was an early believer in J. Cole, and even brought him to 50 Cent, before Jay-Z had the opportunity to sign the Fayetteville native. In a new interview with VladTV, Yayo claimed he was early on a number of artists, including Max B, French Montana, Danny Brown, and Nicki Minaj. “That’s one of my talents is finding the next ones, it’s easy,” he said around the 2 minute mark of the video above. The former G-Unit member recalled going to 50’s home in Connecticut with Cole, where he played “Simba,” off The Come Up Mixtape, Vol. 1.

J. Cole and Willow Smith made Lollapalooza 2022 sizzle

Lollapalooza took over Chicago as it usually does every year. Saturday, July 30, was probably the most explosive night of the event. The organizers planned out the set times, allowing patrons time to leave one set and get to another without missing a beat. The only exception was traveling between the T Mobile stage and the Bud Light Seltzer stage. The trek between the two stages was more difficult because they are at opposite ends of the park.

Day N Vegas Festival 2022, With J. Cole, SZA, And Travis Scott, Has Been Cancelled

Since it first began in 2019, Day N Vegas had been establishing itself as one of the marquee hip-hop and R&B music festivals in the country — one that can stand up to the growing influence of the many Rolling Loud properties around the world. The 2022 edition of Day N Vegas was slated to be the first major US festival performance for Travis Scott following last year’s Astroworld tragedy. But now, it’ll all have to wait, as Day N Vegas 2022 has been cancelled.

Views from Bonnaroo 2022: J. Cole, Jack Antonoff, MGK & more

As festival season continues like it's pre-Covid days again, Bonnaroo has even more reason to celebrate. The Manchester, Tennessee fest returned this year for the first time since 2019, which seems like a lifetime ago now. It was supposed to return in 2021, as did a number of other fellow big players such as Lollapalooza and Governors Ball. But unlike in 2020, when the global Covid outbreak forced most festivals to abruptly scrap their events, it was bad weather in 2021 which prompted a last-minute cancellation for Roo.

J. Cole says Drake’s new album ‘Honestly, Nevermind’ is “phenomenal”

J. Cole has shared his opinions on Drake‘s just-released seventh album, ‘Honestly, Nevermind’, calling the record “phenomenal”. Drake’s surprise seventh album dropped last Friday (June 17), just hours after the Canadian rapper announced it in an Instagram post. Coming as the follow-up to last year’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’, ‘Honestly, Nevermind’ saw Drake take a drastic turn in style, and has proved to be a rather divisive release.

J. Cole Stands Tall, The Chicks Stand Strong at Bonnaroo

Day 2 of Bonnaroo 2022 dawned oppressively hot, with the added soundtrack of a car alarm at sunrise near the Scene’s camp. Later in the morning, a storm rolled through, delaying the opening of Centeroo for a couple of hours. A pile of busted easy-up shelters, spied on a stroll through the GA campground, seemed to be the biggest collateral damage; at least there was a significant drop in the temperature as a reward. Some rumors put attendance at less than 40,000 — if true, it would be a historic low for the fest. However, from the afternoon kickoff through J. Cole’s headlining set and on into the late-night dance parties, Centeroo felt filled to a comfortable degree with colorfully dressed Bonnaroovians hollering “Happy ’Roo” to one another.

Bonnaroo 2022: J. Cole flexes lyrical finesse, battles sound issues

He was signed a decade-plus ago by Jay-Z, but J Cole has cut a figure in modern hip-hop closer to Nas: widely revered, consistently tops the album charts, but seems largely unconcerned with scoring a broad mainstream hit.  He's had his share, of course. But at Bonnaroo late Friday night — with the most fervent fans pressed against the barricade, shouting every lyric at the top of their lungs — Cole appeared to be pulling out smash after...

Lil Durk Dismisses Drake And J. Cole On The Basketball Court After Getting The LeBron James Co-Sign

Lil Durk has had a highly successful last few years and his confidence matches the accolades. While his mettle in music isn’t to be denied, his skills on the basketball court are also well-documented as well. After an April episode of The Shop on HBO, he received one of the biggest co-signs any non-professional basketball player can receive in the form of praise from LeBron James. “Lil Durk can hoop,” King James said. “He can hoop for real. Man, he [at] Lifetime hooping. He got a f****** cannon, too. He got a peel, and he look like a mothaf*cker that can [ball].”

Lil Durk Says He'd Whoop Drake, J. Cole in Basketball, Cites LeBron James

Drake is a basketball champion and J. Cole is a pro hooper -- but none of that matters to Lil Durk because he "knows" he's the best hip hop baller out there. We checked in with Durkio as he was checking outta LAX to get his thoughts on Drake's recent trophy win ... in his own basketball league, mind you.
