Israel González wraps principal photography on La vida que no es nuestra

La vida que no es nuestra (lit. “The Life That Is Not Ours”), the second film by Israel González, following Fuel (2019), has a screenplay penned by the director himself, which tells the story of El Javi, a boy from the suburbs who, after a two-year stretch in prison, is released and resolves to change his life. By coincidence, he meets Laura, and a love affair blossoms between them. Caught in the middle of all this are the protagonist’s younger brother, Carlitos, a small-time crook with a certain reputation in his social circles (for being a troublemaker through-and-through), and their father José Manuel, a man who has given in to solitude and nostalgia, who will find himself at a crossroads, hurtling towards a hellish life on the streets.
