June 29 (UPI) -- New Zealand has quietly designated the Proud Boys and The Base, two right-wing extremist groups in the United States, as terrorist organizations. The groups were separately designated under the authority of Police Commissioner Andrew Coster on June 20 but the moves were made public Monday in a statement published by the official New Zealand Gazette.

Mom Facing 3 Counts of Murder and Arson for Stabbing Her Kids to Death, Burning Their House

A mom who was initially charged with two counts of malice murder received additional charges of a third murder count and arson from the Paulding County Sheriff's Office. Darlene Brister was arrested late Friday after a 911 call reported a fire on Woodwind Drive Home in the Yorkville community. The sheriff's office said two of the youngest, eight-month-old Devonte and three-year-old Donovan, were found dead inside the home with stab wounds. A third boy, Devin, 5, died at the hospital from his injuries. Another child, eight-year-old Dante, had to undergo surgery. His father, Ricky Brister, said he would make it, Atlanta Journal Constitution says.

Human remains found in West Texas in 2013 have been identified as a teen reported missing more than 20 years ago, state officials said. The remains, now identified as Sylvia Nicole Smith, were found in Midland County while workers were surveying near an oil field well site, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) said in a statement Monday.

Elderly man dies in residential fire

JOPLIN, Mo. — A house fire claims the life of an elderly man. Just after 3:00 a.m. Monday morning (6/27), the Joplin Fire Department (JFD) was dispatched after a 911 call reported a possible residential structure fire at 819 West A Street (at the intersection of West A Street and Connor Avenue).
