More Is More for Iann Dior

Story by Kenna McCafferty / Photography by Callum Walker Hutchinson / Styling by Mecca Cox. Iann Dior is living up to his promise of "on to better things." After the viral success of his 2020 single “Mood,” which surely provided musical backing for every other video on your FYP at the time, Dior is carving out space as a mainstay in the music scene. His unique pop-punk meets soundcloud-rap sound has been cosigned by the likes of Travis Barker and Machine Gun Kelly, while his winter release, on to better things, blessed us with some delightfully unexpected pairings, like a Lil Uzi Vert feature on "V12" and a Cashmere Cat-produced "regret." Not to mention, some top achievements of this year include a performance at Coachella's Revolve Fest and a spot on the road with Machine Gun Kelly for the upcoming Mainstream Sellout tour.

Iann Dior Gets Vulnerable On His New Album

The new face of MCM's Spring/Summer campaign digs deep in "On To Better Things." As a baby millennial, the music video for Iann Dior’s “Let You,” off his new album On To Better Things, took me back to a specific moment in time: my childhood “computer room” (remember those?), where an angstier, 12-year-old me would watch Panic! at the Disco and Paramore perform on my desktop screen.

REVIEW: Iann Dior gets vulnerable with newest album release

After the release of Iann Dior’s “Industry Plant,” a title poking fun at the music fans who criticized his fast rise to fame on SoundCloud, the release of Dior’s sophomore effort “on to better things” proves his clear musical talent through vocals. Although some of the tracks on the album end up blending a bit together in sound, there are enough catchy and clever lyrics as well as memorable instrumentation to make “on to better things” a solid, well-produced rap album.

Last week Iann Dior released a new album, On To Better Things, which follows up his massive 2020. Dior and 24kGoldn broke out in a huge way during the first year of the pandemic when their bratty hit “Mood” went all the way to No. 1 and stayed there for weeks, spawning a remix with Justin Bieber and J Balvin, and even landing Dior a guest spot on a remixed version of UK indie rockers Glass Animals own sleeper hit, “Heat Waves.”
