Minneapolis - Helen M. Johnson, 94, Minneapolis, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021. Helen was born March 17, 1927 in Republic County to Lyle and Grace (Goppert) Lash. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, June 17 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis – the family will not be present. Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Hall Wesleyan Church, rural Delphos. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hall Wesleyan Church and left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 166, Minneapolis, KS 67467.

Helen Johnson, 1923-2021

Helen Unruh Johnson of Fergus Falls, was born July 17, 1923, and peacefully entered eternal life on April 13, 2021. Helen was the seventh of eight children born to Daniel and Minnie (Martin) Unruh on the family farm near Goodrich, North Dakota. She attended country school through the eighth grade, Goodrich High School through the 11th grade, then the family moved to Casselton, North Dakota, where she graduated from high school. After graduating, Helen worked at her brother’s grocery store in Casselton where she met the love of her life, Kenny Johnson. Helen and Kenny were married on March 5, 1944, at the Methodist Church in Casselton. To this enduring union were born four children.

Helen Johnson, 95, formally of Brevard, died Monday, March 22, 2021, at her home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest. Shuler Funeral Home is assisting the family.
