Texans' Hardy Nickerson: Placed on IR

Nickerson (concussion) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports. Nickerson had already been ruled out for Sunday's game against Tennessee, but he'll now be forced to miss at least three contests. However, the linebacker's absence shouldn't impact Houston's defensive plans.

Texans' Hardy Nickerson: Not playing against Titans

Nickerson (concussion) has been ruled out of Sunday's game against Tennessee. Nickerson already missed the game against the Dolphins earlier this month, and this means he'll have to wait to make his third appearance of the season after seeing the field previously in Week 4 and Week 8. He's only played nine defensive snaps, though, so his absence shouldn't affect many fantasy rosters this weekend.

Texans' Hardy Nickerson: Will not play Sunday

Nickerson (concussion) will not play Sunday against the Dolphins. Nickerson was just bumped up from the practice squad Thursday, but he won't be cleared in time to play Sunday. Nickerson spent time on the active roster earlier this season, appearing in the Texans' Week 4 and Week 8 games against the Bills and Rams, respectively.

Texans' Hardy Nickerson: Promoted from practice squad

Nickerson (concussion) was promoted to the Texans' active roster from the practice squad Wednesday. Nickerson failed to make Houston's initial 53-man roster but stuck around the team on the practice squad and will now join the active roster. The 27-year-old has appeared in two contests as a gameday elevation and primarily played special teams.

Texans sign former Bengals, Vikings linebacker Hardy Nickerson

Houston has been making a flurry of cheap signings of under-the-radar players as it rebuilds its defense. The strategy seems to be throwing as many darts at the board as possible and hitting on a couple of guys. It makes a lot of sense on paper. Nickerson signed with the Bengals as an UDFA in 2017, and started nine games for Cincy across his first two seasons.
