Ravens' Gus Edwards: Behind Dobbins in rehab

Coach John Harbaugh said Thursday that Edwards (knee) is a little behind the Ravens' other rehabbing players, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports. The list includes J.K. Dobbins, who also is coming back from an ACL injury and remains on the PUP list despite reportedly being antsy to practice. Reports at one point suggested Dobbins would have a tougher rehab due to additional ligament damage in his knee, but it seems to have gone the other way around, with Edwards now in more danger of missing the start of the season. Mike Davis, Justice Hill, Corey Clement and Nate McCrary have been getting RB reps at Baltimore training camp.

Ravens RB Gus Edwards officially listed as ‘questionable’ for Week 1

The Baltimore Ravens may be without Gus Edwards to start the 2022 season, but the team has acquired enough running back depth to prepare for a worst-case scenario. Edwards joins Ronnie Stanley, J.K. Dobbins, Marcus Peters, Tyus Bowser, and Ar’Darius Washington on the PUP list to begin training camp. At the moment, there is no definite timeline for when Edwards will return as he continues to rehab his torn ACL.

Ravens' Gus Edwards: Uncertain for Week 1

Coach John Harbaugh acknowledged Tuesday that he's not sure if Edwards (knee) will be ready for Week 1, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. It's particularly interesting given that Harbaugh said he's more optimistic about Baltimore's other players on PUP. That includes fellow running back J.K. Dobbins, whose ACL tear reportedly was accompanied by damage to other ligaments. Edwards was reported to have a clean tear, though he did suffer it a couple weeks after his teammate. With both on the PUP list to start training camp, the Ravens signed Corey Clement on Tuesday to compete for snaps with Mike Davis, rookie fifth-round pick Tyler Badie and 2021 UDFA Nate McCrary.

Running backs J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards among six Ravens placed on PUP list ahead of training camp

Dobbins (knee) and Gus Edwards (knee), cornerback Marcus Peters (knee), outside linebacker Tyus Bowser (Achilles) and safety Ar'Darius Washington (foot) -- were placed on the physically unable to perform list Friday ahead of the start of training camp next Tuesday.

Ravens Place J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards on PUP List

The Baltimore Ravens have placed running backs J.K. Dobbins (knee) and Gus Edwards (knee) on the PUP list, per the team’s Twitter. Dobbins and Edwards each suffered a torn ACL before last year’s season and are continuing their recovery. It leaves Baltimore’s backfield incredibly thin as newly-acquired rusher Mike Davis, rookie Tyler Badie, and Justice Hill will battle for the starting spot come Week 1. That’s not to say that the Ravens will remain out of the free agency pool for a short-term rental until Dobbins and Edwards return. This unique backfield situation will be worth keeping an eye on throughout the preseason.

Ravens' Gus Edwards: Starting camp on PUP list

Edwards (knee) has been placed on the active/PUP list by the Ravens, Clifton Brown of the team's official site reports. Also landing on the list is fellow running back J.K. Dobbins, who, like Edwards, is working his way back from a torn ACL that he suffered prior to the start of the 2021 regular season. Either of the players can come off the PUP list at any time during training camp, though neither has a concrete timetable for a return to practice. When healthy, Dobbins profiles as the Ravens' top backfield option, with Edwards next in line for carries, and in that context the status of the duo will need to be closely monitored ahead of Week 1. Also in the team's backfield mix are Mike Davis, Tyler Badie and Justice Hill (Achilles).
