The Gordon Murray T33 supercar was made official last week and the company announced that 100 units of the car would be made. It did not take long but all 11 units of the Gordon Murray T33 have all been sold, each one costing £1.37 million. That there would be excitement around the new Gordon Murray supercar was a given. After all, the T.33 was announced with the two things that had made the T.50 so irresistible - an outrageous Cosworth V12 and a manual gearbox - with the guiding hand of everyone's favourite Gordon. What seemed less assured was the response from potential customers; junior model or otherwise, the T.33 is still a £1.37m car before the vodka and tonic. And surely even multimillionaires don't need both GMA supercars...

Gordon Murray Automotive has revealed its junior supercar, slotting in below the radical T.50. Sharing a less extreme version of the same normally aspirated 3.9-litre Cosworth V12 engine, the T.33 will offer more composure and comfort than its sibling – Murray calls it a “supercar GT” – while encapsulating the designer’s core beliefs in agility through lightness.

I’ve known Gordon Murray for at least 30 years, and if he’s changed in that time, I’ve not really noticed. Of course if I look back at photographs taken when I first got to know him during the development of the McLaren F1 in the early 1990s, I can tell the hair is greyer, and I guess if I looked closely enough the face would show some evidence of the intervening decades, but as a person with whom to talk he is the same at 75 as he was at 45. Which is an unstoppable powerhouse of information, insight and enthusiasm. The two of us stood alone in a cold, underground car park for two hours while he talked me around his new T.33 supercar. He barely drew breath.

Gordon Murray has unveiled their latest supercar, the Gordon Murray T33 and there will be just 100 units of the car made. The Gordon Murray T33 will cost £1.37 million before taxes and the first deliveries will start in 2024, the car comes with a 3.9 litre V12 that produces 615 PS.

Following up on its first supercar – the now sold-out T.50 – Gordon Murray Automotive has a second road-going model, the T.33. While still a striking-looking machine, it's actually a bit toned down compared to its predecessor. But that's not to say it's going to be dull in comparison. It still packs a wildly high-revving V12, a manual transmission and a light chassis.

The three-seater £2.4m T.50 fan car remains the ultimate expression of technology and speed, while this two-seater T33 is something a bit more laid-back and conventional. It has the same incredible Cosworth naturally aspirated V12 as the T.50 with 607bhp, a screaming 10,500rpm rev limit and the choice of six-speed manual or a six-speed paddle shift gearboxes.

The T.33 is the second supercar from Gordon Murray Automotive after the amazing T.50. The T.33 uses a detuned version of the 4.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 from the T.50 but sits on a different core structure to the stablemate, with a central monocoque that uses honeycomb carbon-fiber pieces bonded into an aluminum frame. It offers the choice of a manual or automated gearbox.
