The plight of the Ukrainian people cuts deep for Glen Hansard, so he did what he does best and poured his heart out in a song. “Take Heart” began with a post from Patti Smith asking us to take heart ‘cause things will get better, and landed with help from his “Once” co-star Marketa Irglova and three Ireland-based Ukrainian singers.

Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova of The Swell Season at Cadillac Palace Theatre, Chicago, IL, March 12th, 2022. Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova reunited after more than a decade since playing their last shows as The Swell Season to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Academy Award winning movie Once. The short six-city, week-long tour, stopped in Chicago March 12, 2022 amidst the city’s early St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, and green river dye, to play an immaculate set at the Cadillac Palace Theatre. Eddie Vedder announces 2022 US tour w/ Glen Hansard

Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder is releasing a new solo album, Earthling, on February 11 via Seattle Surf/Republic Records (order on vinyl), and he's now announced a tour supporting it. He'll hit the road in February for a series of US shows with the band he debuted at Ohana Fest in September, which features Glen Hansard, Andrew Watt, current Jane's Addiction bassist Chris Chaney, and Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer. Glen will also open the shows, and you can see all dates below.

Eddie Vedder To Play Shows In NY/NJ This February, Glen Hansard To Open

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Eddie Vedder and bandmates the Earthlings will hit the road in a series of U.S. concert dates in February 2022. The shows kick off on February 3-4 at the Beacon Theatre in New York and wrap up on February 22 in Vedder’s hometown of Seattle. Special guest Glen Hansard will open the shows. The tour will make a stop at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark, NJ, on Sunday, February 6.

The festival presented by The Ark is back again as an in-person event for 2022, with Punch Brothers and the Michigan-bred Sweet Water Warblers also on the bill. Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova will re-team in early 2022 for their first tour together in nearly 11 years, Variety can exclusively reveal. The performances will take place next March to coincide with the 15th anniversary of the movie “Once,” which starred the duo and featured their original music. Seattle Surf and Republic Records have released the soundtrack for Sean Penn’s new movie Flag Day. The soundtrack features eight tracks written by Eddie Vedder and Glen Hansard, including two songs performed by Vedder’s daughter Olivia. In addition, there are three new songs from Cat Power.
