For the debut performance of their three night run at the Bowl, Soulive will perform a special Rubber Soulive Beatles Set. Marking their only performances in 2022, the trio will be joined by legendary Meters founding bassist George Porter Jr. on Friday, July 8th and Saturday, July 9th for a special performance to showcase Brooklyn's iconic venue in style. Relix has announced that in celebration of the Brooklyn Bowl’s 13th Anniversary, it will host three rescheduled nights of Soulive, on July 7 through 9 at the popular Brooklyn, N.Y. venue. The final two evenings, July 8 and 9, will feature an elaborate display of funk-ability with the help of legendary musician George Porter Jr.

George Porter Jr. has shared he will sit out the remainder of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival after testing positive for COVID-19. The original member of The Meters shared the news with his fans via social media. In a video message recorded by Porter, he stated, “About 30 hours ago, I tested positive for the COVID.” He went on to add, “I feel better today than I did yesterday. And I’m assuming tomorrow I’ll feel better, better.”

Phish drummer Jon Fishman and The Meters bassist George Porter Jr. shared the stage on Thursday night as part of a benefit for Go Big For Hunger in Portland, ME. Hosted by local tribute act Band Beyond Description, the performance saw Porter and Fishman join in on a number of fan-favorites from the Meters, Allman Brothers Band, and Grateful Dead repertoires including “Cissy Strut”, “Blue Sky”, and “Sugaree”. To close the second set-opening segment, Porter helped guide Fish and the Band Beyond Description through a celebratory “Turn On Your Love Light”. Fishman remained onstage throughout the second set.
