George Michael’s estate is speaking out against Tory Lanez for some careless sampling. The estate of the Wham! member and pop icon is calling out the Toronto artist over his song “Enchanted Waterfall,” which it says pulls from the 1985 classic “Careless Whisper” without permission. Lanez’s track, which seemingly includes similar vocal melodies, appeared on his ’80s-inspired album Alone at Prom in 2021. Michael’s team and Wham! bandmate Andrew Ridgeley are looking to have the song removed from streaming services over its “unauthorized sample.”
