If Taylor’s Manchester City team can beat Hayes’s Chelsea at the Academy Stadium on Wednesday they will be two wins away from dethroning the WSL champions and reclaiming a title last won in 2016, although both clubs had been at the heart of the proposed men’s European Super League proposals before appearing to get cold feet on Tuesday night.
