With sixth place, Fernando Alonso (Alpine) has achieved his best result since returning to Formula 1 this year. He starred in a first great start in a race full of shocks. On the grid, Alonso was in eighth position and soon went into the pits to change tires: from soft to hard. He dropped to 16th place, and from there he was able to recover some places, first after the puncture of Lance Stroll, which caused the safety car to leave, when he was 12th, and then at the new start – he started 10th -, which he did with the tires soft, which allowed him to move forward 4 positions and climb to sixth place.

Slipstream Saturday: Fernando Alonso Proposes Rules Shakeup For Monaco

The Monaco Grand Prix last weekend was one of the most exciting races around the streets of Monte Carlo in recent years. This was in part due to Lewis Hamilton’s uncharacteristic struggles, which left him down in seventh in qualifying and unable to improve his position in the race while title rival Max Verstappen dashed off with the lead. The win allowed Verstappen to edge ahead of Hamilton for the top spot in the championship, the first time a non-Mercedes driver has been first in the standings since the 2018 German Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton is UNDERRATED says former arch rival Fernando Alonso, who believes only way to beat seven-time world champion is to have the 'perfect race with the perfect team'

Lewis Hamilton's former arch rival Fernando Alonso believes the Briton still does not get the credit he deserves even after winning a record-equalling seventh world title last year. The Spaniard, who returned to Formula One this season after a two-year hiatus, says Hamilton was worthy of extra praise for consistently...

Fernando Alonso, for the comeback and Carlos Sainz, for the podium in Portimao

The Portuguese GP from Formula 1, third race of the year, will measure the resilience of a Fernando Alonso that had a bad classification, without palliative. Surpassed with solvency by his partner Esteban Ocon, who will start 6th, the Spaniard will look for the points as a lesser evil and, above all, a better feeling than on Saturday.

Fernando Alonso takes a leap forward to finish in the ‘top 5’ in the free practice of Portimao

The roller coaster (in this case, Portuguese) of the Portimao circuit perfectly sums up what was seen with Fernando Alonso. In the first free sessions he was overcome with solvency by Esteban Ocon, which gave him half a second and left many doubts. In the seconds, with heat on the track, the Spanish leapt forward: 5th (almost in the same time as Ocon) and with Carlos Sainz, 4th, in the same tenth.

Fernando Alonso will discover Portimao in …

April 27, 2021 (8:35 PM CET) While the vast majority of the drivers have raced at the Portimao circuit, since they participated last year in the Portuguese GP race, Fernando Alonso will discover the track during a Grand Prix weekend. “I have only played a few tests here and it was in wet conditions,” says Fernando Alonso about the Portuguese track, where this weekend he will contest his third Grand Prix with the Alpine team. “I will have to learn the corners well, but I like these challenges.”

Fernando Alonso: No excuses, I need to be better

Fernando Alonso has said there is no excuse for his performance at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Alonso crashed on his way to the grid before the race, sliding off a wet track and damaging his car's front wing. He spent much of the grand prix running outside of the top ten but was elevated to a points finish after Kimi Raikkonen was hit with a post-race penalty.

Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz, forced to come back in Imola

The second round of the 2021 World Cup Formula 1 promises to be fast-paced. The extreme equality seen in qualifying (Hamilton’s pole was the best lead over second since Brazil 2019) promises to carry over into the race. This will be a small advantage for Carlos Sainz, that part 11th,...
