On Wednesday, the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames played the highest-scoring Stanley Cup playoff game since 1993 and tied for the fifth-highest ever. Calgary won that game 9-6. On Friday, ahead of the second game in the series, the Oilers’ Evander Kane (seen at left above celebrating a first-round goal with teammate Connor McDavid) offered quite a prediction for his team’s odds:

The Edmonton Oilers once again relied on their explosive offense to propel them to a win over the Calgary Flames, and this time it was Evander Kane who led the way. Kane recorded a natural hat trick in the the Oilers' four-goal second period as the Oilers went on to win 4-1 to take a 2-1 series lead. It was the 30-year-old's second hat trick of the 2022 playoffs.

Kane's natural hat trick came in a span of six minutes during the second period as the Oilers cashed in on their early dominance in this contest. With the hatty, the 30-year-old winger is up to 10 goals, three assists, 43 shots, 48 hits, 24 PIM and a plus-9 rating through 10 playoff contests. He's played on the top line in the last two games with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, a trio the Flames' defense has yet to be able to contain.

Kane helped out on Evan Bouchard's game-tying tally at 15:03 of the second period.
